Dr Roger Dehn
Dr Roger Dehn is a GP who studied at Otago medical school, graduating in 2017 (MBChB). He completed a post graduate diploma in child health (DCH) in 2019 while still living and working in Dunedin. He became a fellow of the Royal college of general practitioners in 2023 (FRNZCGP). He is also an accredited skin cancer doctor with the Skin Cancer College of Australasia (SCCA). He enjoys the breadth of general practice and has expertise in skin cancer medicine (skin checks), minor surgery and no-scalpel vasectomies. He has worked at the clinic since 2020 and is passionate about providing long term care for the community.
Dr Emily Bridson
Dr Emily Bridson is an Accredited Skin Cancer Doctor with the Skin Cancer College Australasia, reflecting high-level training and proven skills in skin cancer diagnosis, treatment, and management. She specialises in comprehensive full-body skin checks, advanced dermoscopy mole assessments, and skin cancer surgery. In addition to her skin work, she provides comprehensive general practice care, with a strong focus on acute clinical needs, health promotion, and overall patient wellbeing. Outside of Silverstream Medical Centre, Dr Bridson enjoys cycling, gardening, walking her dog, and spending time with her family. She welcomes new and existing patients seeking dedicated mole checks and local surgical procedures.
Dr Catherine Forshaw
Dr Catherine Forshaw is a British-trained GP, who now resides in Christchurch and works as a General Practitioner. She earned her Medical Degree in 2008 (MBBS) from the University College London (UCL). Catherine completed her GP training and became a Member of the Royal College of GPs (MRCGP) in 2015 after spending several years in NHS. She has a postgraduate diploma in Sexual Health and Reproductive Health and is a qualified Menopause Society Certified Practitioner and member with the Menopause Society. She is a keen runner and also understands what it is like to manage a busy work life whilst raising children. She is very motivated to help women navigate through mid-life challenges.
Dr Verena Hermanns
I am a General Practitioner originally from Austria who has called New Zealand home for the past 15 years. I have a background in paediatrics and have also completed training in urgent care, which has given me a broad and adaptable clinical skill set. I enjoy caring for patients of all ages and am committed to providing thoughtful, patient-centred care to individuals and families.
Dr Greshame Carr -
Dr Ganesh Namasivayam
I am an Urgent care doctor who was born in New Zealand and raised in Brunei Darussalam (a small but wonderful country in Southeast Asia). I have called Christchurch home for the last 4 years and I live here with my wife and daughter. My background in urgent care has enabled me to identify emergency clinical presentations and provide adequate treatment in a timely manner. I enjoy my work in primary health caring for a diverse population. Outside of work, I enjoy riding my bicycle, short day hikes and racket sports.

Sarah - Health Coach
Sarah is available in the practice Mondays & Wednesdays. She is qualified in Natural Medicine and adult education with experience in Health Coaching, she is passionate about supporting people to enhance their health through evidence-based lifestyle and nutrition changes. She enjoys creating a safe space for people to feel heard and supported, working with them toward their goals. Outside of work, she loves getting outdoors and spending time in nature to recharge, playing the piano, listening to music and spending time with family and friends. Health Coaches can help individuals and families gain knowledge, skills, tools, and confidence they need to take an active part in their health and help them reach their overall health goals. Sarah can offer practical assistance with stress, making changes to health behaviours that impact diabetes (pre-diabetes), asthma, gout, sleep, high cholesterol, high and low blood pressure, any other heart health concerns as well as parenting support. All appointments are free of charge.
Leanne is our Health Improvement Practitioner (HIP) here at Silverstream Medical. Her job is working alongside patients to support them to make changes in their life to improve health and wellbeing, in collaboration with the rest of the practice team.
Leanne is available on Tuesday and Thursdays, and offers support with anything that challenges your wellbeing such as anxiety, low mood, stress, sleep, physical health challenges like chronic pain or alcohol/ drug related issues and parenting challenges. Leanne has knowledge and connections to community support services.
Ring reception to book a HIP appointment with Leanne or see if she is available right now (you do not have to see your GP first). All appointments are fully funded, and maybe available on the same day.
